About the medical entrance test

The MediTest-EU is a multi-level aptitude test, which examines subject-specific issues for students applying for the courses human medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine. The MediTest-EU consists of a written exam, lasting 120 minutes, and a personal interview with a duration of 15-20 minutes – usually taken online. The entrance test is part of the admission process of an increasing number of European universities. The MediTest-EU provides these universities with an alternative to a written entrance test as well as the international Test SAT®. The MediTest EU is available – depending on the university’s choice – either in English or German.

The MediTest-EU has been developed together with medical faculties and Deutsche Hochschulstiftung (German University Foundation) It checks the abilities and the basic knowledge that, according to current knowledge, are essential for studying successfully in the subjects of human medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine, as well as for the medical profession. The expected level of knowledge in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics is at the same level as the advanced courses at upper secondary level. Even though no in-depth preparation is required for test participants with good marks in the respective advanced courses, we recommend that all test participants visit the MediStart-College preparatory courses.

The MediTest-EU can be taken at our Medical Entrance Examination Service examination centers in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Munich, as well as in Vienna, Zurich, Vilnius, Riga, Budapest and Nicosia. In addition, it can be done anywhere in the world online, from home, or with the supervision of a notary or at a German Consulate (Honorary). Dates and locations can be found here.
